Mark has coached full time since 2004 & is committed to developing the club to field top level fencers, and inspiring as many people as possible to take up fencing as a 'Sport for life'.
He has coached fencers to International representation level with selections at Cadet European Championships ( MF ) & Junior WorldCup ( WF ) 2015.
Mark was taught to fence by Ziemek, GB Olympic coach for mens foil 88 to 2013. He follows his lesson plans and methods as foundations, and he holds the Full Hungarian Diploma, as well as a postgraduate degree in Fencing.
He was Head Coach at Loughborough National University of Sport for two years; assisted Ziemek at Highgate School for two years; and has been focused for the last 8 years on developing his own students at Battersea. He has worked in India with Junior Squad Fencers, National Institute, and assisted with their coach education programme & currently is engaged seasonally in Italy organising training camps in association with top Italian clubs.
Mark is registered No No 57651 with The British Fencing Association. Level 5 Certified (highest UK) in three weapons, since 2003. Fully insured for all club and coaching activities. Cleared by CRB. Attended good practice and first aid. Diploma subjects include combat psychology, nutrition, conditioning, training theory and sports injuries.
